Captain
Walter M. Migrala, Jr., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Migrala, was born in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from LaSalle University in June of
1967. While attending LaSalle University he enlisted in the Naval Reserve
and was commissioned in October of 1967 through the Reserve Officer
Candidate Program.
His sea duty assignments have included tours on USS New Jersey (BB 62),
USS Benjamin Stoddert (DDG 32), USS Albany (CG 10) and the Staff of
Commander, Cruiser Destroyer Group Twelve. He later served as Executive
Officer, USS Biddle (CG 34) and Commanding Officer, USS Clifton
Sprague (FFG 16).
Captain Migrala has served ashore as an NROTC Instructor at the Illinois
Institute of Technology where he earned a Master of Business Administration
degree with a sub-specialty in Finance Management.
Other shore tours included Appropriations Manager of the Staff of the Deputy
Chief of Naval Operations for Surface Warfare, and Director of the Combat
Systems Architecture and Engineering Group and the Naval Weapons Station
Earle in June, 1989.
He is authorized to wear the Meritorious Service Medal with one gold star,
the Navy Commendation Medal with one star, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit
Commendation, Battle Efficiency E, National Defense Service Medal, Sea
Service Ribbon, and the Vietnam Service and Vietnam Campaign Medals. |
